About Us
My name is Kate and my lifelong passion for dogs has sparked the creation of Lavender Tails Dog Home Boarding and Day Care. Working with dogs every day has been a highly anticipated dream of mine, and after spending a number of years bringing up our family (including our Labradors) I am excited to make this dream a reality.
I am proud to say that after 25 years, my husband and I have cultivated extensive experience and knowledge. Our very own resident Labrador, Jax, has an incredibly gentle temperament, and a history of easily getting along with other dogs. Jax loves cuddling up on the settee in the evening, long walks along our countryside trails and, above all, the last scrap of food he can find.
Our family home is the picture-perfect place to drop off your best friend should you need care during a day’s work or a well-earned break. We are set in a small, rural village surrounded by rolling fields, canal paths, and country walks that are sure to set your dog’s tail wagging. When not on a walk, they will always have access to a large but secure garden should they wish to enjoy themselves outdoors. Our residents have the freedom to exercise and play, or retreat to a separate, quieter area in our spacious cottage where they can relax away from other dogs.
Your fur baby will be treated as one of our very own: enrichment, exercise and love. They will never be too hot in those summer months with air conditioning, cooling mats and the occasional doggy ice-cream, nor too cold in the winter when they can make themselves cosy by the log burner.
We have a special place in our hearts for Black Labradors. With years of hands-on experience caring for this loyal, intelligent, and affectionate breed, we understand their unique needs - from their boundless energy and love of play to their gentle nature and strong bonds with people. We warmly welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes, but kindly ask that they are child-friendly, well-socialised and have no history of aggression toward other dogs or people.
Lavender Tails is conveniently located off the A519, close to the Staffordshire-Shropshire border. For your reassurances, I am fully insured and qualified in Dog first aid Emergency Canine Care – an accredited CPD course– and hold a four-star license for Home Boarding and Dog daycare, issued by Staffordshire County Council Animal Welfare Inspection Team.
